TW Header: A friend recommended that I’d check out Cedar Boulevards EP, and I am glad he did! This EP is actually so good that it is worth mentioning each song individually. It starts with the song ‘A Raven Like a Writing Desk’, and the intro is almost classical sounding. Once the guitars and drums kick in, the songs starts to rock straight away. The song is very catchy and I love the lead guitar in this. There are some very tricky parts in this, and I love the sweep-picking and the string skipping in the intro! 'All That I wished for' sounds a lot happier than the previous song and this is Pop Punk at it's best, in my opinion. Again the guitars are awesome, but the vocals are also very well sung and I love how the guitar harmonizes with the vocals in this song. 'Fall Apart' is a slower acoustic song with a very smooth sounding intro. The verse has almost got a hint of country in it, which is meant as a copliment. I also love the lyrics 'some songs are better left unsung', which is very true. However, the number of songs that actually remain unsung is far greater, and I am glad this band decided to write songs together! The next song is called ‘Shorelines and Shipwrecks’ and this is my favorite song on this EP so far. While the band is clearly Pop Punk, the guitar-work in this is just awesome, and I love the twin lead guitars on top of the sick rhythm guitar and bass. It is rare that Pop Punkers can actually play their instruments, but these guys sound a lot better than a lot of the so called professionals out there. I love bands that save the best for last, and this is one of those bands. The last song on the EP called ‘Maybe’ is just as good, if not better than ‘Shorelines and Shipwrecks’. The songwriting of this band, as well as the recording quality is top notch, and I can only recommend this to anyone who is into Pop Punk! 5 out of 5 stars for this!
